The answer to this question depends on a few different things, including the quality of the timber used, the climate it’s subjected to and how well you maintain it.

The wood used in our CUBE collection is of the highest quality, and pressure-treated, so it has the potential to last for up to 40 years (!), compared to untreated wood which lasts only 10-12 years at best.

To maximise the lifespan of your wooden pergola, give it a good clean with a mild cleaning detergent and a gentle pressure washer to eliminate algae, mould and mildew buildups.

Re-staining or re-sealing the timber during the summer will also add an extra layer of protection against harsh UV rays.

It’s important to note that the natural variations of the wood mean that the actual product you receive may vary from the product colours shown, and can move, shrink or swell, which can cause small cracks to appear. But this is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
