Oak Porches and Carport Kits
Green Oak Frames, Cut and Drilled in the UK, Made to Your Measurements
Our oak porch kits and wooden carport kits are made to your exact measurements. Every frame is built around your dimensions, not the other way round. Each is cut and drilled in the UK from planed green oak posts and rails and delivered with all fixings, ready to screw together on site.
The porch kit covers widths from 1.5m to 2.1m and depths from 0.6m to 1.8m, sized around your doorway. The wooden carport kit spans from 3m to 10m wide, covering a single car up to a double carport layout. Both are supplied as open frames, roof covering is not included, so you can finish the roof to suit your property.
Porch Sizes: 1.5m to 2.1m Wide, Built Around Your Door
Every oak porch kit is made to order, so the frame is sized to your entrance rather than the other way round. Width can be set anywhere from 1.5m to 2.1m and depth from 0.6m to 1.8m, with a choice of 2100mm, 2200mm or 2300mm ridge height.
A shallower porch gives shelter over the door and somewhere to stand out of the rain. A deeper one leaves room for boots, a bench or a pram. You enter your measurements on the product page and the frame is cut to suit.
Carport Frames from 3m to 10m Wide
The large wooden carport works the same way, with widths from 3m to 10m and depths from 3m to 4m. That covers a single car, two side by side, or a longer run for a work vehicle and trailer.
Frames up to 4m wide sit on four 150 x 150mm posts; anything wider uses six. Posts are 2400mm high with the ridge at 3200mm.
Green Oak Posts, Planed All Round
Both kits are built from planed green oak, with 150 x 150mm posts and matching top rails, plus treated softwood rafters and ridge on the carport. Planing gives a smooth, clean face rather than the rough-sawn look of cheaper frames, and it takes an oil or stain evenly.
Green oak is freshly sawn timber that carries on moving as it dries. Some surface splitting and slight warping in the posts is normal in the first months and settles as the frame weathers.
What’s Supplied and What You’ll Need On Site
Each kit arrives cut and drilled to size with the fixings and assembly hardware included, so you screw the frame together rather than cutting or jointing anything yourself. The porch kit is supplied as the frame; the carport includes frame and rafters.
Roof coverings aren’t included, so you can tile, felt or board to match the property. Both need a level base and the posts must be fixed down. Porch kits are ready in 15-20 working days, carports in 25.
