The answer to this question depends on a couple of different factors, including the type and quality of the materials used, the climate and how well you take care of it.
Here at Pheasant & Co., we only use the highest quality, pressure-treated timber for our pergola kits, which has the potential to last for up to 40 years (!) compared to untreated wood, which only lasts around 10-12 years at best.
To maximise the lifespan of your wooden pergola from Pheasant & Co., and get your money’s worth, give it a good clean once or twice annually with a mild detergent and gentle pressure washer to eliminate algae, mould and mildew build-ups.
You should also re-seal or re-stain during the summer to further protect the timber from harsh UV rays.

One of the best bits about our pergola kits is how easy they are to put together.
They include all the parts you’ll need that are pre-cut to size, so all you have to do is screw them together.
Most of our kits require 2 people to be able to build and can take anywhere from 2-4 hours.
